About The Author

Esther is a champion of her story. After an early marriage right after her first professional qualification, she took the road less travelled, one she know would help her keep her sanity and provide a reasonable standard of living for her baby girl.

A second baby comes in the wake of her decision to walk out of a home that she felt would destroy her spirit. Shattered, a single mom with two little ones, Esther begins a journey that is fuelled by faith that she will succeed because she has to. She unrelentingly seeks better job opportunities, continuous professional upskilling, ventures into the world of business and succeeds against all odds.

Esther falters once again when she places her trust in a man who turns out to be other that what he’d led her to believe he was. She picks herself up once again, brushes the dust off and makes a leap a success of her life in the western province, a long way from her parents’ home in the central province. She buys land, starts building with the professional guidance and support of her beloved brother, her Engineer. Tragedy strikes and a short illness sees his passing on. Shaken, but not broken she carries on, one day at a time until she completes what they started together.

A desire to travel fills her heart; she asks if of God and within a short time, this single mom from Nyandarũa finds herself attending a wedding of a childhood friend in Finland and thereafter, makes her debut visit to the US where she attends a conference on the status of Women in New York City, and visits friends in North Carolina.

She is the founder and CEO of Tunza Dada, a community-based organization whose mission is to encourage, equip and empower teen moms and single moms, change the stigma-laden narrative and enrich lives through our Lord Jesus Christ.
